Southeast Missouri State University has released the names of three athletic director finalists who will be making visits to Cape Girardeau in the upcoming weeks.
The three candidates are Robert Mullen, former athletic director at La Salle University in Philadelphia; Paul Bubb, director of athletics at Cal State Northridge; and Bobby Thompson, director of athletics, intramurals and recreation at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
The three candidates, recommended by a search committee, will participate in interviews, meetings and press conferences while visiting Southeast.
Southeast has been in the market for a new athletic director since Dr. Richard McDuffie left the position for Eastern Illinois University in March of 1997. Caroll Williams, a long-time member of the Southeast athletic department, has been serving as interim athletic director since that time.
"We are very pleased with the process we have followed," said Dr. Joe Low, Southeast faculty athletics representative and co-chair of the search committee for a new athletic director. "It has generated three quality finalists. We look forward to them visiting the campus. We are hopeful we will find a good match."
