Former major league reliever Tom Henke will be the guest speaker at the 20th annual Southeast Missouri Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame induction banquet, to be held March 11 at Sikeston High School.
Henke was the closer for the 1992 world champion Toronto Blue Jays. He also pitched with the St. Louis Cardinals and Texas Rangers on his way to 311 saves, seventh on the major league career saves list.
The inductees for this year: Henry Fowler, New Madrid; Ronald "Turkey" Lurk, Perryville; Jim Green, Sikeston; John Heacox, Sikeston; Robert "Demp" Snider, Fisk; and James Turner, Jackson. To be inducted post-humously are Glenn Huckstep, Cape Girardeau, and John "Pujo" Koepp, Charleston.
Tickets to the banquet, which include a band and dinner, are $7.50. They may be purchased from the following board members: Arthur Bruce, Homer Dickmann, Charles Gardner, Lynn Hasty, Charlie Miller, Shirley Miller, Bob Owens, Bob Wachter, Churn Williams and Jack Whiteside.
