Hobbs, a senior who has signed to swim at Northern Iowa next year, helped the 200-yard medley relay team set a new best time of 2 minutes, 0.82 seconds and qualify for the state meet in her first event of the day. The team, which Hobbs anchored, finished third in the event.

Later Hobbs claimed the Indians only individual title of the day by winning the 100 backstroke in 1:02.03. She had already qualified for the state meeting in the event.

Hobbs' day was rounded out by a second place finish and state-qualifying time in the 500 freestyle and another impressive relay performance. Her team took second in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:55.59.
