Central basketball player Andrew Williams is the Southeast Missourian Player of the Week.
Williams and the Tigers took home the championship trophy from the season-opening Potosi Tournament on Saturday.
Central dominated the competition, winning each of its three tournament games by at least 25 points.
Williams led his team in scoring during the tournament. He opened the season with a 10-point performance against Fredericktown.
His best performance came against North County in the semifinals. Williams made five 3-pointers and scored 21 points to lift the Tigers to the championship game.
Williams added another double-digit point performance in his team's 59-25 win over Fox in the title game, scoring 18 points.
The senior sharpshooter was back in action on Monday, this time against Poplar Bluff in the opening round of the SEMO Conference Tournament.
Williams was the only Tiger to reach double-digits in the low-scoring affair, contributing 16 points in the victory. While he sank one 3-pointer in the game, most of his damage was done at the free-throw line where he finished with 11 makes in 13 attempts.
