Sophomore Alex Sotak has been difficult to stop for the Jackson girls soccer team most of this season.
She's been dishing out assists as well as finding the back of the net herself.
That didn't change in the Indians' first home game of the season.
Jackson played its first 11 games on the road before hosting Poplar Bluff on Thursday.
Sotak helped ensure the home opener was a victory by scoring about two minutes into the game.
"It was really exciting, especially since this is our first home game of the year," Sotak said. "I was just really excited to be back on the home field and scoring that goal really just made it that much better."
Sotak flashed her speed in the second half to get by a defender and score again.
"We have some very good speed all the way around," Jackson co-coach Justin McMullen said. "We were trying to move some people around to free them up throughout the midfield and up top."
Sotak also contributed to Jackson's 3-1 win over Seckman on Wednesday. She assisted on Victoria Smith's goal.
The Indians are off to a fantastic 11-1 start this season, a year after winning their ninth consecutive district title only to fall short in the sectional round. They hope this is the year they continue their streak of district titles and break through the sectional round.
