A four-run inning made the difference in Scott City's 11-8 win over Perryville at Capaha Field on Wednesday.

Shortstop Kobe Watson reached base three times and scored three runs for the Rams. Holden Miller and Luke Umfleet collected two hits, and Joe Young went 3-for-4 as the Rams amassed 11 hits.

Dalton Fritsche, Eli Derickson, and Ty Peeler each plated multiple hits as the Pirates collected ten hits.

The Pirates took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning off an inside-the-park home run by Adam Green. Green and Dane Lauck scored two runs each for Perryville.

Lauck also pitched for the Pirates and went 3.1 innings, allowing five runs on four hits with eight strikeouts.

Scott City starting pitcher Lawson Graff allowed four hits and three runs over four innings, striking out nine for the no-decision.

Perryville (2-3) travels to Charleston on Friday. Scott City (2-0) hosts Scott County Central on Thursday.

St. Vincent staves off Ste. Genevieve's four-run rally in the seventh inning to slay the Dragons 7-6 on Wednesday in Ste. Genevieve.

Christian Schaaf went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI for the Indians, who collected eight hits. Schaaf and Trevor Moonier each racked up two hits.

St. Vincent pitcher Liam Krauss went the distance, allowing six runs on eight hits and striking out four through seven innings for the win.

St. Vincent (2-0) travels to Grandview on Friday.

__Jackson falls to Francis Howell__

A 4-1 lead turned into a 15-5 loss against Francis Howell on Wednesday in the Troy Baseball Classic in Troy.

Jackson led 4-3 in the top of the fifth inning until a nine-run rally by the Vikings did the Indians in.

Jack Wyatt, Quinton Borders, and Caden Bogenpohl each went 2-for-3 for the Indians. Bogenpohl hit a home run in the fifth inning.

Jackson starting pitcher Carson McDaniel allowed six hits and three runs over four innings, striking out three. Jaiden Glency, Borders, and Aiden Shaver each contributed in relief for the Indians.

Jackson (3-1) hosts Dexter for its home opener on Thursday.
