It's been an incredibly busy seven days for sophomore Katie Mattingly and the St. Vincent girls basketball team.

Mattingly helped lead the Indians to second place at the Delta New Years tournament and two other wins during that time.

Mattingly scored 14 points against Scott County Central in the first round of the Delta tournament. She followed that performance with six points and eight rebounds against Delta in the semifinals.

There was no rest for the Indians. They won their third game in as many days Thursday, a 52-34 victory over St. Pius.

Mattingly scored 15 points, all before halftime, against St. Pius. She went 6 of 6 from the field and hit 3 of her 5 free throws in the first half of the win.

"She works pretty hard and she just came out tonight ready to play," St. Vincent coach Terry Wengert said after the St. Pius game. "She did a lot of good things. She's coming into her own. She's a sophomore and she's really beginning to play well, so I was really proud of her tonight."

St. Vincent returned to action at the Delta tournament Friday. Mattingly scored 11 points in the Indians' 61-43 loss to Meadow Heights in the title game.

The Indians' busy seven-day stretch ended Monday with a 54-34 road win over Festus. Mattingly netted 11 points in the victory.

Mattingly and the Indians concluded the grueling stretch at 10-3 this season, and two of the losses have been to Meadow Heights.
