Notre Dame's Dean Crippen was 3 for 5 with eight RBIs, a double and two home runs, including a grand slam in the bottom of the second inning that helped propel the Bulldogs to a 15-5, six-inning win over Perryville in last week's Class 4 District 1 championship in Doniphan, Missouri.

The senior first baseman's second homer of the day came in the third inning, a two-run blast that was sent over the opposite-field fence in right field.

"Once he gets locked in, he's as good as anybody that we've got, and he was really just seeing the ball extremely well today," Notre Dame coach Jeff Graviett said about Crippen. "... Anything they threw up there, it seemed like he hit hard."

Crippen is batting .375 on the year, and the victory improved the Bulldogs' record to 24-5.
