Southeast Missouri State sophomore third baseman Andy Lennington was named the Ohio Valley Conference co-player of the week on Monday.
Lennington hit .444 (8 for 18) with five runs scored, two doubles, two triples, a home run, five RBIs, a .944 slugging percentage and .444 on-base percentage in four games last week.
Lennington had multi-hit games in three of Southeast's four contests last week, including two triples Friday at Morehead State to tie the school single-game record.
Southeast (12-13, 4-5 OVC) visits Missouri State at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
The Southeast department of athletics recently announced its inaugural Redhawks Road Trip schedule.
The Redhawks Road Trip is a series of events that give the public a chance to meet coaches, student-athletes and administrators from Southeast athletics.
Each event features a social hour, followed by a brief program led by director of athletics Mark Alnutt. Complimentary appetizers will be provided and a cash bar will be available. All events are free and open to the public.
"I'm very pleased to be able to take our 'Show' on the road. The Redhawks Road Trips allow us through a grass root effort to engage our alumni, fans and supporters in our region," Alnutt said in a release. "Our staff, coaches and student-athletes have the opportunity to thank people for their support and tell our story and vision for Southeast athletics through personal contact."
The first of 11 events will be Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Jackson Elks Lodge.
Other events in the area, all set for 5:30 p.m., will be April 12 at Keller's in Isle Casino Cape Girardeau; April 18 at Fox Haven Country Club in Sikeston; and April 22 in Perryville at a site to be determined.
The road trip also will visit Kirkwood, Mo., April 11; Farmington, Mo., May 2; Belleville, Ill., May 9; Malden, Mo., May 15; Eureka/Washington, Mo., May 21; Kennett, Mo., at a date to be determined; and Memphis, Tenn., at a date to be determined.
Three home dates at Houck Field House highlight Southeast's spring schedule announced Monday.
The Redhawks open their spring schedule at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday when they host regional rival Southern Illinois Carbondale.
Southeast will host a tournament April 6 featuring Murray State, Southern Indiana and Missouri-St. Louis. Action will start at 9 a.m. and will continue all day as Southeast plays three matches.
The Redhawks conclude their spring season April 13 as they host their annual Alumni match at 3 p.m. The match will follow Southeast's sixth annual Walk for Women's Athletics.
The Redhawks finished the 2012 season 21-13 overall, earning their best record since 2000, on their way to an OVC West Division title.
