Southeast Missouri State senior thrower Kevin Farley's performance at the Drury Hotels Joey Haines Invitational last weekend warranted Ohio Valley Conference Male Field Athlete of the Week honors.
Farley won the discus at the Redhawks' home meet with an OVC-best throw of 183 feet, 6 inches. That mark ranks 22nd nationally and is second in school history behind a throw of 192-4 from Neil Rock in 1986.
Farley also took second in the shot put and hammer throw. His throw of 60-3 in the shot put leads the OVC and is 21st in the country while his toss of 203-5 in the hammer throw is sixth in the conference.
The Redhawks compete at the Hilltopper Relays, hosted by Western Kentucky, on Friday and Saturday.
