Southeast MIssouri State senior track and field athlete Kevin Farley wrapped up his career Friday with an All-America finish at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
Farley grabbed eighth-place in the discus with a mark of 57.90 meters (189 feet, 11 inches).
"Kevin is a one-of-a-kind athlete," coach Eric Crumpecker said in a press release. "We wished he could have had slightly longer throws, but it is not often somebody can come here and be successful in two separate events.
"He could go down as the best thrower in school history. He improved his two school records in shot put and hammer while nearly setting a third in discus, all in one season."
Nebraska's Nicholas Percy took discus gold with a mark of 61.27 meters (201 feet).
Farley finished 10th in the shot put on Wednesday.
This comes after Farley struggled with injury for the past two years.
