The Southeast softball team lost a pair of games to Indiana State on Wednesday at the Southeast Softball Complex.
The Sycamores won Game 1 9-4 and beat the Redhawks 9-5 in eight innings in the nightcap.
Southeast lead 4-1 after three innings in Game 1, but ISU ralled back with two runs in the fifth, three in the fifth and three more in the sixth to seal the win.
Aubrey Denno started for the Redhawks and lasted 4 2/3 innings. She allowed six runs -- five earned -- on 12 hits while walking none and striking out one. Keaira Schilling pitched the remaining 2 1/3 innings, allowing three earned runs on six hits with a walk and no strikeouts.
Kayla Fortner, Lindsey Patterson, Taylor McDannold and Nicole Deering had an RBI apiece for the Redhawks.
Southeast jumped out to another lead in Game 2. The Rehawks led 3-1 after two innings and 5-3 after the fourth. They held that lead until ISU scored twice in the top of the seventh and four more times in the top of the eighth.
Madeline Krumrey went the distance in the circle for Southeast. She allowed all nine runs, six of which were earned, on 13 hits while striking out four and walking two.
Lead-off batter Alexis Anderson was 2 for 3 with an RBI and run scored for Southeast. Designated hitter Savannah Carpenter and second baseman Meaghan Touchette also had two hits each.
Southeast dropped to 4-11 with the losses. The Redhawks will face OVC foe Tennessee Tech in a road doubleheader on Saturday.
