~ The Redhawks senior was selected second-team Louisville Slugger All-American
Southeast Missouri State senior third baseman Trenton Moses added to his growing list of postseason honors Thursday with his selection as a second-team Louisville Slugger All-American by College Baseball newspaper.
Moses led the nation in both on-base percentage (.531) and slugging percentage (.761). He was named the Ohio Valley Conference player of the year after leading the conference in batting average (.408) and home runs (19).
Moses, a graduate of Advance High School, is one of 30 semifinalists for the USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award, which is presented to the nation's best amateur baseball player.
He also was bestowed All-American honors after his junior season and was named to several preseason All-American teams before his senior season.
Southeast senior shortstop Kenton Parmley sent the bat he used in a school-record and OVC-record 47-game hitting streak to the National College Baseball Museum and Hall of Fame on Thursday.
Parmley's hitting streak, which stretched from May 7, 2011 to April 21, 2012, tied for the third longest in NCAA Division I history.
Parmley broke the 35-game school record set by Kerry Robinson in 1995 and the 42-game OVC record established by Austin Peay's Chuck Abbott in 1996.
The streak ended April 22 against Tennessee Tech.
The bat will be displayed with other artifacts from the 2012 season at the Night of Champions event in Lubbock, Texas, on June 29 and 30.
