The Southeast Missouri State cross country program had a strong showing at Saturday's Greater Louisville Classic in Louisville, Ky.
Southeast's men placed third out of 33 teams while the women were fifth among 32 squads. Both groups competed in the Blue Division.
Junior Nate Shipley led Southeast's men with a fourth-place finish. His time over the 8-kilometer course was 25 minutes, 1.27 seconds.
Also in the top 30 for the Redhawks were junior Alex Zisser (14th, 25:23.50) and junior Tyler Mullen (30th, 25:45.30).
Finishing in the top 100 for the Redhawks were freshman Colten Strothheide (72nd, 26:14.19), sophomore Brent Collins (78th, 26:16.79) and freshman Craig Munie (82nd, 26:18.35).
Senior Jessica Bollinger led Southeast's women by placing seventh in a time of 18:22.67 over the 5-kilometer course.
Others in the top 100 for the Redhawks were freshmen Gloria Westlake (32nd, 18:50.45), Jenny Govero (37th, 18:56.87), Rebekah Lawson (64th, 19:16.90) and Melanie Lacey (78th, 19:24.71). Lacy is a graduate of Scott City High School.
Southeast cross country teams are off this week. They return to action Oct. 15 at the Indiana State Pre-Nationals.
