The Southeast Missouri State men won two events at the Southern Illinois Team Classic, a two-day indoor meet that concluded Saturday.

The Redhawks' John Berry won the men's long jump with the competition's only jump over 24 feet. Berry traveled 24 feet, 7 3/4 inches.

T.J. Walls turned in the other Southeast victory, as he won the 60-meter dash in 6.9 seconds. Walls had qualified second in the preliminaries in 6.97, just .02 seconds behind Jody Muschette of Lincoln College, but Walls finished .04 ahead of Muschette in the final.

Southeast also had two second-place finishes. Whitney Thomas turned in a time of 8.94 seconds in the women's 60-meter hurdles, and Juli Koenegstein clocked 10 minutes, 31.74 seconds in the women's 3,200.

A third-place Southeast finish belonged to Audrey Harwood, who cleared 10-6 in the women's pole vault.

Fourth-place finishers for Southeast were Bill Nekula in the men's shot put (47-11) and Brittni Peck in the women's 3,000 (10:42.71).
