OXFORD, Miss. -- For the second straight game, Southeast Missouri State University's baseball team surrendered a late lead and lost to the University of Mississippi on Saturday.
The Rebels' Jude Voltz hit a two-run home run with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning to beat Southeast 4-3 before 475 fans in Oxford.
With Southeast leading 3-2, Ole Miss' Bobby Kielty led off the home half of the ninth with a double. Southeast pitcher Lanson DeBrock was then removed in favor of Dan Huesgen.
Huesgen got Chad Mead to ground out before allowing Voltz's blast.
Southeast (0-2) had led 1-0 in the second inning, 2-0 in the third frame and 3-1 in the seventh.
Southeast totaled seven hits, with two each from shortstop Steve Lowe and third baseman Darrin Kinsolving.
Kielty led Ole Miss' eight-hit outing with two hits, both doubles.
Huesgen (0-1) took the loss. Ryan Spille started the game for the Indians, allowing one run on three hits and striking out seven in six innings. DeBrock allowed four hits in two innings.
Joey Cramblitt (1-0) allowed one run on six hits in the last four innings and earned the win. The Rebels improved to 2-0.
