CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Darin Kinsolving belted two home runs as Southeast rallied from an early deficit to defeat Southern Illinois 9-4 Tuesday.
Kinsolving had two of Southeast's 12 hits on the day and finished with three RBI.
Southeast improved to 15-19 with the win while Southern Illinois dropped to 11-21.
On the mound, Jason Swearingen (3-3) pitched the full nine inning for Southeast, scattering 11 hits. He struck out one and walked two. SIU touched Swearingen for two runs in the first and one in the third as it built a 3-0 lead.
Southeast's offense came to life in the fourth, pushing across five runs for a 5-3 lead. The Indians added single runs in the fifth and sixth inning and two in the eighth for a 9-3 advantage. SIU scored its final run in the bottom of the ninth.
Steve Goodman and Brad Hoehner each had two for Southeast.
The Indians will host Arkansas State today at 7 p.m. at Capaha Park.
