The Southeast Missouri State soccer team will look to build on its first win of the season by making a move in the Ohio Valley Conference.

Southeast hosts two OVC matches in the next three days, at 7 p.m. today against Morehead State and at 2 p.m. Sunday against Eastern Kentucky.

Those will be the final regular-season home contests for Southeast.

The Redhawks (1-6-2, 0-2-1 OVC) notched their initial win Sunday, a 2-1 nonconference triumph at Alabama A&M.

Those two goals marked Southeast top scoring output this year. The Redhawks had netted only three goals in their first eight matches.

Southeast, the defending OVC regular-season and tournament champion, is mired in eighth place among nine conference squads.

Morehead State (5-6-1, 2-0-1, seven points) is tied for second in the league, while Eastern Kentucky (3-7-2, 1-2, three points) is seventh.

Volleyball at home

The Southeast volleyball team will host OVC matches at 7 p.m. today against Tennessee State and at 2 p.m. Saturday against Austin Peay.

Southeast (6-6, 4-2) and Austin Peay (12-8, 4-2) are tied for third in the 10-team OVC, with Tennessee State (4-9, 3-2) a half-game back in fifth place.

This weekend's matches are part of Southeast volleyball's eighth annual Digs For Life program in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Funds are raised through pledges for every Southeast dig during October home matches to support area breast cancer education, prevention and detection.

Redhawks rally

Southeast will hold a Redhawks Rally in front of Houck Stadium at 6 p.m. today.

Free hot dogs, popcorn and soda will be served before the volleyball and soccer games.

Redhawks Rally will be a special 2-for-1 event. Fans can be admitted at either venue, and they will have full access to both events for the price of one.

Also, all 2008 Walk for Women's Athletics participants will receive free admission with their women's walk T-shirt.
