Sikeston captured the recent Bambino Mid-Plains Regional Tournament to earn a berth in the national event.
Sikeston entered the final day of the regional tourney needing two victories in order to win the championship. The squad handed Brooklyn Park, Minn., its first tournament loss with a 6-5 win, then came back to again beat Brooklyn Park 8-4 for the title.
