Calvert White, the second-leading scorer on this past year's Southeast Missouri men's basketball team, has been selected to play on the Virgin Island National team at the Central Basket Tournament May 24 to June 1 in Honduras.

White, who will be a senior next season, averaged 13 points and five rebounds as a junior.

The Central Basket Tournament is the first round of competition for qualification in the 2000 Olympics. White left on Tuesday for Miami where the team will gather to practice for a few days before leaving for the Honduras tournament.
