West, earlier this week named the Ohio Valley Conference newcomer of the week, had a brilliant performance last Saturday as the Indians beat Southwest Missouri 28-23 for their first win this year.
A sophomore in his first season at Southeast, West rushed for 97 yards and passed for 173 yards after entering the game early in the second quarter. He ran for a touchdown and passed for two touchdowns.
West is scheduled to make his first career start this Saturday when the Indians visit Tennessee-Martin.
