CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Southeast Missouri State University's Scott Tate won the men's 55-meter hurdles in 7.86 seconds Saturday in the Saluki/USA Open at the SIUC Rec Center.

Also in the event, the Indians' Glenn Haley placed third (7.89 seconds) and Steve Hall was seventh (8.09).

In pole vault, Jim Fox placed fourth (15 feet 7.75 inches), Chris Moore was sixth (15-0) and Jaret Willi was seventh (15-0). In high jump, Garvin Ambrose was seventh (6-6).

In triple jump, Eugene Staten placed sixth (44-8.75), and in shot put, Brian Alfultis was third (51-9.25) and Jim Shea fourth (46-8.25).

The Otahkians' Emily Lousseart placed second in the women's 55-meter hurdles in 8.79 seconds. Also in the event, Michelle Ramsey placed fifth (8.93) and Becky Shell was sixth (8.97). Celeste Ramsey placed third in the 5,000-meter run (18:54.32).

Erin McCuan placed second in high jump (5-1.25). Jennifer Phillips was fifth in shot put (40-6). In triple jump, Rena Bergmeier was fourth (36-5.5) and Sara Kaznica was eighth (32-9.5). Kaznica was fourth in pole vault (8-6.25). Bergmeier was third in long jump (17-2.75) and Phillips was fourth (17-0).
