OTTAWA -- Daniel Alfredsson scored three goals and added an assist as the Ottawa Senators beat the St. Louis Blues 4-1 Saturday night.

Alfredsson registered his third career hat trick by scoring three times in the third period as the Senators won their second consecutive game.

Magnus Arvedson added a goal and an assist, and Jani Hurme stopped 25 shots for Ottawa.

The victory was the first at home this season for Ottawa (5-6-1-0), which snapped a franchise-worst start on home ice after going 0-3-1 in four previous games.

Ottawa native Mike Eastwood had the lone goal for St. Louis, which lost for just the second time in seven games.

Blues goalie Fred Brathwaite, another Ottawa native, finished with 32 saves.

Pavol Demitra and Doug Weight each had nine-game scoring streaks stopped as Hurme came within two minutes of a shutout.

Hurme beat Philadelphia 7-2 on Thursday night to end Ottawa's five-game winless streak.

Arvedson deflected Wade Redden's point shot at 12:13 of the first to make it 1-0. That held up until Alfredsson scored at 5:12 of the third.

The Senators captain then scored on a slap shot from the top of the right circle at 11:29 before Eastwood tipped Al MacInnis' shot past Hurme with 1:51 remaining to make it 3-1.

Alfredsson completed his hat trick on a breakaway into an empty net.
