SEMO'S LOWE GAINS OVC BASEBALL HONOR

Southeast Missouri State University senior shortstop Steve Lowe has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week after helping lead the Indians to the top of the league.

Lowe went 7-for-8 with three doubles, two homers, seven runs scored and 11 RBIs as the Indians swept a three-game series from Morehead State over the weekend. He had two homers and eight RBIs in Sunday's 19-1 win.

For the season, Lowe has now raised his average to .344, second-best on the squad.

The Indians had Tuesday night's scheduled game at Missouri rained out. They'll return to OVC action this weekend with a three-game series at Murray State. Southeast leads the OVC with a 12-5 record.
