Three Southeast Missouri State track & field athletes received special recognition Thursday for their work in the classroom.
Sophomore Kevin Farley, senior Joel Krause and senior Alex Zisser each earned first-team Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Southeast's three selections are the most among Division I schools in the district. The trio will be placed on the national ballot for CoSIDA Academic All-America consideration.
Farley, who qualified in the shot put for next week's NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore. is a pre-med and general studies major with a 3.82 grade-point average.
Krause, a graduate student pursuing his Master's in business administration, has a perfect 4.0 GPA after a year in graduate school. He finished undergraduate studies with a 3.97 GPA.
Zisser, a history and psychology major, has a perfect 4.0 GPA.
