Some state bragging rights will be on the line tonight when two hot collegiate baseball teams square off at Capaha Field.

Southeast Missouri State University's Indians have won four of their last five games while the University of Missouri Tigers own an eight-game winning streak.

The nine-inning single contest is set for a 6 p.m. first pitch.

"Missouri is really hot and they've got a very good program," said Southeast coach Mark Hogan. "It's a big challenge for us and it should be an exciting game."

Missouri, 22-13 overall, has struggled some in the rugged Big 12 Conference as the Tigers are in eighth place with a 6-9 mark.

Southeast, 15-17 overall, is in sixth place in the Ohio Valley Conference with a 4-4 record.

Southeast's leading hitter is Jeremy Johnson (.410), followed by Phil Warren (.373). Clemente Bonilla Jr., who is having an impressive freshman season, is the Indians' only other hitter above .300 (.319).

Darin Kinsolving tops the Indians in homers with five while Johnson's 23 RBIs lead the way.

In the pitching department, Ryan Spille is 7-1 with a 3.72 ERA.

With both teams coming off weekend series, it is not known who will do the pitching tonight.
