JACKSON -- The Cape SEMO Bank Junior Legion pounded Jackson in a doubleheader completed late Thursday night.
SEMO Bank won the first game 13-1 in five innings and the nightcap 18-0 which was also ended early. Cape's record now stands at 15-10 overall and 11-2 in district games.
Three home runs in the third inning of the first game propelled SEMO Bank to an easy victory. Josh McIntosh, Tom Wencewicz and Matt Bollinger had the home runs.
Cape ripped 14 hits with two each coming from Wencewicz, Richard Harrison, Mark Fisher, Ty Fiddler and Tim Huckstep.
Mark Ostendorf hurled a two-hit complete game, striking out seven and walking two.
In the late game, McIntosh blasted another homer and pitched a three-hit shutout for the win. He had three of Cape's 14 hits.
Fiddler, Fisher and Harrison added two hits each.
