Southeast Missouri State University's women's soccer team kept its winning and shutout streaks going Thursday night -- but it certainly wasn't easy.

The Otahkians received an unassisted goal from Nicole Thiele -- her fifth of the season -- early in the first half and that stood up for a 1-0 victory over visiting Arkansas State in front of 237 fans at Houck Stadium.

Southeast (5-0) has scored 15 goals while allowing none.

Goalkeeper Beth Guccione made three saves as she recorded her fifth shutout of the year. Southeast outshot ASU 16-6.

The game was a physical one as ASU (2-4) was whistled for 20 fouls and Southeast 16. Late in the contest, Southeast's Valerie Henderson and ASU's Sheri Kiser were ejected for fighting. Both players will have to sit out their next games.
