The Southeast Indians have yet to play a game this week, but they've already been hit with two big losses.
It's only Tuesday, yet two starters have already been lost to foot injuries.
After receiving word Sunday that 6-foot-10 Bud Eley was lost for the season with a broken left foot, the Indians learned Monday that junior Demetrius Watson would be lost two to three weeks with a broken toe.
Watson, a 6-foot-4 forward, injured his foot while going down steps on campus Monday and X-rays revealed a broken bone in the big toe of his right foot.
Watson, a transfer from Mineral Area College, had moved into a starting lineup when Eley broke his right foot earlier this season. Watson performed so well in Eley's absence, he remained in the starting lineup after his return.
In 11 starts, Watson averaged 11.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. During that span he has connected on 63.3 percent of his field goal attempts.
