DENTON, Texas -- The Kris Buchheister coaching era got of on the wrong foot Saturday night as Texas Women's University beat the Southeast Otahkians and their new coach convincingly 187.500-180.450.

Despite the team loss, Melia Roberts of Southeast won the all-around event with a total score of 37.350. Roberts took second in the uneven bars (9.575) and had the best floor routine for the Otahkians with a 9.425.

Southeast only team victory came in the balance beam, winning by three tenths of a point. Erica Smith (9.375) took second on the beam for Southeast.

This was the second home-meet of the season for Texas Women and evened its record to 1-1.

Southeast host Wisconsin-Oshkosh at the Show Me Centre next Sunday.
