Southeast Missouri's men's basketball team has announced the signing of two recruits from the St. Louis area in the early signing period.

Former Riverview Gardens standout Jamel Richardson and Lutheran North's Mike Sutherland have signed letters of intent to play with the Indians of coach Gary Garner.

Richardson, 6-foot-8, is currently a sophomore at Florissant Valley Community College. He attended Kankakee (Ill.) Community College last year and averaged seven points and three rebounds. He earned all-metro and all-conference honors while at Riverview Gardens.

Sutherland, 6-5, is about to begin his senior season at Lutheran North. As a junior he was among the top 10 scorers in St. Louis and pulled in all-metro and all-conference honors.
