MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Southeast Missouri State University's red-hot baseball team racked up another convincing victory Tuesday afternoon.

The visiting Indians jumped on winless Memphis with a four-run first inning and never looked back as they cruised to a 9-4 victory.

Southeast, posting its sixth straight win, improved to 6-2. Memphis fell to 0-5.

An RBI single by Jeremy Johnson and a three-run home run by Phil Warren got the Indians off and running in the top of the first.

The Indians later got two more homers, a two-run shot by Jeff Bourbon in the third and a solo blast by Kevin Meyer in the sixth.

The Indians also stole two more bases without being caught, making them 23 of 24 in the stolen-base department this season.

Jeff Hilz (2-1) pitched the first five innings for the win. He allowed five hits and two runs while striking out two and walking two.

Southeast then used four more hurlers for one inning each. Andy Davidson, Ronnie Lewallen and Augie Casson all pitched a scoreless frame while Brandon Smith gave up Barrett Smith's two-run homer in the eighth.

The Indians will return to action this weekend when Southwest Missouri comes to Cape Girardeau for 1 p.m. games Saturday and Sunday.
