Avis White scored 24 points to lead Scott County Central to a 69-65 victory against Bell City in the fifth-place bracket of the Southeast Missourian Christmas Tournament on Wednesday.

The Braves led most of the game against the defending Class 1 state champion Cubs.

White hit five 3-pointers for Scott County Central. Jeremy Johnson added 12 points and Isaac Porter had 11.

For Bell City (6-4), Nick Niemczyk scored 23 points and drained six 3-pointers. Phillip Gross added 11 points for the Cubs, while Jeff Liggins and D.D. Gillespie each scored 10.

The Braves face Charleston in the fifth-place game today at 5 p.m.
