LEOPARD, Mo. — The Scott County Central softball team secured its largest victory in recent memory with a 26-1 win at Leopold on Wednesday, March 29.
The Bravettes (2-3) registered 21 total hits in the lopsided victory over the Wildcats (1-2) and were led by Maddy Carlisle’s 4-for-4 and six-RBI performance.
“The girls played extremely well defensively,” said SCC coach Tim Carlisle. “We put the bat on the ball and it was one of our most complete games in years.”
The team's other top performers at the plate were Khloe Tolle (3-for-4 with four RBIs), Kierstin Banks (3-for-5 with three RBIs and the runs scored), Briley Couch (3-for-5 with five RBIs and three runs scored), Makinna Easter (2-for-3 with two RBIs and four runs scored), and Brookelyn Sauceda (2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored).
Tolle earned the complete-game win on the mound. She didn’t allow any earned runs on two hits with three strikeouts and three walked batters.
“Tolle pitched an excellent game and is building confidence daily,” Carlisle said. “This team has been working extremely hard. There is still a long road ahead of us, but we are moving in the right direction.”
SCC will compete in the Round Robin Tournament at Three Rivers College in Poplar Bluff on Saturday, April 1. The Bravettes will face Ellington (2-0) at noon and Advance with Bell City (3-1) at 2 p.m.
