Scott City's spikers sweep aside Chaffee

Scott City kept its strong volleyball season going Monday night with an easy 25-10, 25-12 victory over visiting Chaffee.

Kacie Cartwright led the Rams (22-8) with seven kills while Abbie Cook and Jenny Glency both had three kills. Ashton Phillips served five aces, Rachel Watkins had three aces and Lindsey Amick added 11 assists.

Jackson rallied to win on the road.

Amanda Peiffer had nine blocks for the Indians (15-9-3). Caitlen Jennings added six blocks and Natalie Koeper recorded 20 digs.

Perryville 25-25

Meadow Heights 13-13

Perryville cruised to a road sweep over Meadow Heights.

Jodi Amschler led the way for Perryville (12-14-3) with two kills and five aces, while Jocelyn Moll and Jaime Hacker both had three kills.

• Scott Dunaway scored three touchdowns to lead Central's JV football team to a 22-0 home victory over New Madrid County Central's JV. Quarterback Blake Slattery threw touchdown passes of 29 and 9 yards to Dunaway, who also returned a punt 41 yards for a touchdown. Dunaway also caught a two-point conversion pass, while Garrett New had a two-point conversion run.
