With three local games occuring Thursday night, the final Friday night of the season will be more quiet than the previous nine weeks.

Jackson hooked up with rival Cape Central; Perryville played De Soto and Sikeston clashed with Potosi, leaving Poplar Bluff as the only regional large school playing tonight.

But a lot will be at stake on the small-school scene as Scott City (8-1) looks to win its third straight Class 2A, District 1 championship over Charleston (3-5).Scott City has won eight straight games, winning them all by at least 28 points. Charleston figures to be the Rams' toughest competition since losing in Week 1.

But Scott City is no doubt the heavy favorite.

The Rams are coming off a 55-0 drubbing of Crystal City, while the Blue Jays posted a 34-21 win over Grandview.

The two teams have three common opponents Crystal City, Grandview and Malden.

Scott City fared better against Crystal City and Grandview, but Charleston dropped a 41-32 decision to Malden, while the Green Wave drowned the Rams 30-0 in the season opener.

Hayti at St. VincentWith a win, St. Vincent will wrap up a district championship in a battle of Indians.

And St. Vincent, the No. 2 ranked team in Class 1A, shouldn't have much trouble with 3-6 Hayti.

Hayti did, however, knock off an improved Chaffee team last week 47-30. Both teams have beaten Chaffee in the three-team district. St. Vincent beat Chaffee 41-7 two weeks ago, before clobbering Missouri Military Academy 50-8 in a non-district matchup.

St. Vincent's offense has exploded the past several weeks. In their last three games, the Indians have scored 152 points.

Chaffee at ValleChaffee lost a game that it figured to win last week when it fell to Hayti 47-30.

The Red Devils will look to bounce back when it takes on Valle-Ste. Genevieve.

Valle is far removed from its powerhouse days.
