SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- Marcus Klund rushed for nearly 225 yards as Scott City High's football team solidified its No. 6 Class 2A state ranking Friday night with a 48-13 romp past visiting Brentwood from the St. Louis area.
The Rams improved to 4-0 as they dropped the Eagles to 1-3. No further information from the contest was received.
Scott City will return to action next Friday night when it hosts neighboring rival Chaffee.
St. Vincent 65, Grandview 12
HILLSBORO, Mo. -- The Indians, the state's second-ranked Class 1A team, had absolutely no trouble as they opened up a 35-0 lead after one quarter and never looked back.
"We played pretty well," said St. Vincent coach Keith Winkler, whose squad improved to 4-0. " Our defense stepped it up and we controlled both the offensive and defensive lines."
Jonathan Paulus threw three touchdown passes: 32 and 13 yards to Ryan Brown and 8 yards to Chad Flentge. Brown added a third TD on an 80-yard interception return.
Derek Kutz scored on an 8-yard fumble return and he also kicked nine extra points.
Other St. Vincent touchdowns were by Nathan Thomas (3-yard run), Adam Bockman (44-yard run), Aaron Ernst (49-yard interception return) and John Hoeckele (55-yard interception return). The Indians also had a safety.
St. Vincent had 216 yards rushing, led by Mark Gotto with 93 and Bockman with 88. Paulus completed five of eight passes for 82 yards. Brown had three receptions for 63 yards.
De Soto 35, Perryville 0
PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Perryville struggled on offense, mounting only about 60 total yards, as it remained winless on the season.
Perryville (0-4) saw De Soto score in each quarter. The Dragons led 8-0 at the close of the first quarter, 22-0 at halftime and 28-0 by the start of the fourth quarter.
The Pirates did not complete a pass and Mike Schmidt was the team's leading rusher with 25 yards on 12 carries.
"We just can't get anything going right now," said Perryville coach Lance Bell. "We just need to get better."

Cape Central 0, Park Hill 0
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Cape Central battled Park Hill to a scoreless deadlock in its opener of the 12-team Capital City Tournament.
Cape Central coach Tom Doyle said his team had about six good scoring chances but came up empty.
Cape Central (6-5-1) returns to action today, playing Fort Osage at 8:30 a.m. and Waynesville at 1:30 p.m.

Meadow Heights 15-17
Notre Dame 11-15
PATTON, Mo. -- The Lady Panthers continued to roll through their 2000 schedule, improving to 19-1 with a tough sweep of Notre Dame.
The victory was Meadow Height's second in two nights over a larger school. The Lady Panthers defeated 4A Jackson on Thursday.
"It was a good win after last night," said Meadow Heights coach Erin Hoffman. "The girls could have had a letdown."
Holly Boyd led Meadow Heights with 11 kills, nine digs and five kill-blocks; Hanna James added seven kills and three digs; Ashley Brune had three kills, 10 digs and three kill-block; and Jami Fulton had 16 assists and an ace.
Ashley Millham led Notre Dame (9-5-4) with eight kills while Jennifer VanGennip added seven and Lynn Obermiller and Ali Tyson contributed five each. Summer McCauley had seven service points while Tyson and Katie Canfield led the way in assists with 10 and nine, respectively.
Notre Dame's JV improved to 13-0 with a 15-11, 13-15, 15-12 win.
Zalma 10-15-15
Bell City 15-11-8
BELL CITY, Mo. -- Zalma came away with a three-set victory after dropping the first game.
Carrie Pixley was instrumental in the victory for Zalma (10-3-3) with 14 kills and nine service points, including six aces. Amber Buehler added seven kills; Erika Campbell had five kills, two blocks and two aces; and Selena Slaughter dished out 25 assists.
Zalma won the JV contest 15-13, 15-12.
Eagle Ridge 15-15
Unity Christian 3-3
Amber Karnes collected nine kills and seven service points to help lead Eagle Ridge Christian to a sweep.
Carrie Margrabe added seven kills and Ashley Hughes had 11 service points.
Eagle Ridge evened its record at 2-2.
