STE. GENEVIEVE -- Scott City's girls spoiled Valle's senior night and handed the Lady Warriors a 45-40 loss Monday in high school basketball action.

Jessica Dees tallied 15 points and had a team-leading eight rebounds for Scott City (17-5). Becca Gowin, out for a couple of weeks with a sprained ankle, returned to the court and added 11 points.

"Valle had senior night and they were pumped," said Scott City coach Randy White.

The game was close throughout as Scott City led 13-12 at the end of the first quarter and trailed 25-23 at halftime. Valle took a 36-35 lead into the final eight minutes, but the Lady Rams held a 10-4 scoring advantage to pull out the win.

Scott City concludes its regular season Wednesday against St. Vincent.

Kelly 68, Portageville 36

PORTAGEVILLE -- Kelly completed its regular season with a win at Portageville on Monday.

The Lady Hawks are 19-6.

Kelly led 20-9 after one quarter and 34-20 at halftime.

Marissa Essner had a game-high 19 points and Jennifer McNiell added 16.

Delta 64, Oran 28

DELTA -- Delta held a 17-4 first-quarter edge and led 41-8 at halftime in its win over visiting Oran on Monday.

Delta improved to 17-6, dropping Oran to 2-16.

Kristin Fish had a team-high 14 points for Delta; Marianne Cook and Amanda McDaniel each added 11.

For Oran, Sara Heisserer totaled a game-high 14 points.

Scott Co. Central 87, Woodland 34

MORLEY -- Scott County Central's 25-11 first-quarter advantage ballooned to 51-15 at halftime in its win over Woodland on Monday.

Central, which had four players score in double figures, improved to 12-11.

Tashika Raby had 17 points, Ashley Whitson 16, Vontrice Blackmon 14 and Brandy Miller 10.

For Woodland, Lindsey Allmon had 13 points.

Class 4A, District 1 tourney

In games Monday at Tiger Fieldhouse, Farmington's boys beat Sikeston 79-59 and Farmington's girls beat Sikeston 64-17.

Farmington's boys, the No. 4 seed, will face top-seeded Jackson at 6 p.m. on Thursday in a semifinal game. No. 2 Cape Central will meet No. 3 Poplar Bluff at 7:30.

Farmington's girls, the fourth seed, will play No. 1 Poplar Bluff today at 7:30. At 6, No. 2 Jackson will face No. 3 Cape Central.

The girls championship game will be Friday at 6 p.m. and the boys game will follow at 7:30.

In the boys game Monday, Farmington's John Boyd, a 6-foot-5 senior, had a game-high 27 points and Josh Griffin added 17. Brian Ellitt's 20 points led Sikeston.

In the girls game, Laura Barks scored 13 points and Sara Wills added 10 for Farmington.
