Scott City's baseball team squeaked out a pair of wins Thursday.

The Rams edged Scott County Central 3-2 in the opener, then nipped Jackson 5-4 in the second game.

Jaris Hye went 2-for-3 with a double for the Rams against the Braves.

Jamie Scholz earned the win, while Josh Henson pitched three innings and struck out five batters to earn the save.

Henson belted a solo home run to spark Scott City against Jackson. Skylar Cobb earned the win on the mound and went 3-for-4 at the plate.

Tyler Qualls went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer for the Indians.

The Bulldogs (21-1) cruised to a doubleheader sweep.

Mark Hagedorn belted a three-run home run, while Jake Pewitt added a solo shot for the Bulldogs in the opening game.

Dylan Drury hurled five innings, allowed five hits, five walks and struck out eight. He went 3-for-3 with four RBIs.

Drury added a long ball, while Austin Greer went 2-for-2 with a triple and a double in the second game.

Brandon Peters earned the win.

Senior right-hander Matt Groves threw a one-hitter and helped his cause with three hits as the Panthers won on the road.

Groves struck out eight and walked one in six innings.

Brent Garland also had a home run and three RBIs for Meadow Heights (6-5).

Casey Bucher added two hits for the Wildcats.

Class 1 District 1

St. Vincent had four golfers finish in the top 10 to win the district title and earn a trip to the state meet as a team Wednesday at Ste. Genevieve Golf Club.

Brett Wengert led the way for the Indians, finishing tied for second with an 84. Teammate Ben Schremp was right behind with an 85.

Brandon Trapp (86) and Sean Martin (90) rounded out the scoring for St. Vincent.

Saxony Lutheran had three golfers qualify for the state tournament as they finished in the top 10 when St. Vincent's scores were removed.

Tyler James shot an 84 to tie for second, while Zach Vaeth carded an 85 to earn trips for the Crusaders. Nick Murphy also earned a trip to state as he tied for 10th with a 96.

Mindy Siebert netted a hat trick as the Bulldogs (12-3) romped on the road.

Brianne Sanders added a goal. Anna Wren tallied two assists, while Meghan Dohogne and Amanda Pleimann each had one.

Brianna Ziegler earned the shutout in goal.

Jackson 4, Sikeston 0

Bobbi Jo Schlick was a one-woman wrecking crew for the Indians (14-3), tallying all four goals in a home romp.

Emily Thompson and Kylie Seyer each added an assist, while Morgan Riddick recorded the shutout.

Central 5, Kennett 0

Sarah Uptmor had two goals and two assists, while Abby Kiefner scored twice and added an assist as Central (5-11) won on the road.

Brooke Evans also scored, while keeper Caitlin Smith earned the shutout.
