CHARLESTON, Mo. -- The schedule for the Missouri Senior Babe Ruth state baseball tournament at Hillhouse Park in Charleston has been altered.
Boonville dropped out of the tournament after the first schedule was released, narrowing the tournament field to nine teams.
As a result, pool play will consist of three three-team divisions instead of two five-team divisions.
The Chaffee Honey Badgers, Charleston AAA and Arcadia Valley Cyclones make up Pool A; the Wayne County Lumberjacks, Charleston Fighting Squirrels MLB and Mineral Area Panthers are competing in Pool B; and the Missouri Rage, Charleston AA and SEMO Pirates form Pool C.
Teams will be seeded based on pool play results and compete in a nine-team single elimination bracket. The first tiebreaker for teams with the same pool play record is runs allowed and the second tiebreaker for teams with the same pool play record is run differential.
The winner of bracket play wins the state title and advances to the Midwest Plains Regional in Holyoke, Colorado.
