BENTON, Mo. — Saxony Lutheran snapped a three-game winning streak by Kelly with a 5-1 win at Kelly High School on Wednesday, March 29.

Drew Hahs had an impressive game on the mound for the Crusaders (3-1), pitching all seven innings and striking out 10 while allowing one run on six hits.

“Haha dealt on the mound,” said Kelly coach Josh Hopkins. “He kept us out of our offensive approach. Saxony is a very good ball club. It was a tough loss, but we get to turn around and play two games on Saturday. Our guys are hard workers that are committed to getting better.”

Dalton Forck took the loss on the mound for Kelly after throwing five innings with six strikeouts and five walks. He allowed four earned runs on five hits.

“[Forck] was not the sharpest on the mound, but he competed well enough to keep us in the game,” Hopkins said. “We have to be better controlling the things we can control and be able to produce offensively. When our pitchers are not at their best, we have to be able to help out offensively.”

The Hawks scored their lone run in the bottom of the fifth inning when Michael Dollins singled on a fly ball to center field that scored Drew Klipfel.
