Rumble on the River scheduled for Saturday

For the first time in several years, Cape Girardeau will play host to a card of boxing and mixed martial arts on Saturday night.

The Eagles Aerie 3775 is presenting "Rumble on the River" at 7 p.m. Saturday night at its club, located at 321 N. Spring St.

General admission is $20, and VIP tables of six are available for $360. The VIP tickets include a full meal, parking and beverages.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m.

The card will include competitors from the Miletich Fighting Systems of Southeast Missouri and Bootheel Bombers Boxing Club. Mixed martial arts bouts will include championships in the Sikeston-based Absolute Fighting Challenge. Competitors are expected from seven different states.

The card will have 15 to 20 bouts, with about a 50-50 split on boxing and mixed martial arts.
