Caleb Duncan shook off a tackle and scored the game-winning TD on a 59-yard pass from Ty Jones as the Kennett High School football team won on Homecoming Night.
Jones added a two-point conversion run.
The Indians defeated East Prairie, 36-30, and improved to 4-1 on the season.
East Prairie was seemingly set to win the game on a long pass play of its own; however, Kennett's defense generated a fumble. Kaden Taylor registered the strip on Eagle tight end Hunter Palmer, and Carter Shewmaker fell on the ball.
Scott City 62, Malden 8
SCOTT CITY — Scott City raced out to a 62-0 halftime lead en route to pinning Malden with its 18th consecutive loss dating back to October 2021.
In tennis
CAPE GIRARDEAU — The Kennett High School girls tennis team took the garland, winning the Southeast Missouri Conference title.
Christi Tejeda won the singles crown while Claire Bean and Handley McAtee were the doubles champions.
In soccer
Kennett has added a home-and-home series with Westwood Baptist School from Poplar Bluff, including a home game on Monday, Oct. 2 at 5 p.m., at Indian Park.

Gideon volleyball tournament
GIDEON — Gideon, Clarkton, Bloomfield and South Pemiscot all advanced to championship Saturday at the annual Gideon Tournament.
The Bulldogs won Pool 1 and the Reindeer was victorious in Pool 2.
Matches resume at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Saturday's slate
The Senath-Hornersville baseball team will play East Carter in a doubleheader starting at noon.
Holcomb and Senath-Hornersville volleyball will travel to Jonesboro, Ark., for the intense one-day Jonesboro Hurricane Play Day. Matches begin at 9 a.m. Bracket play starts at 2 p.m.
The Delta Fair officially begins on Saturday as entries will be taken for baby photos from noon to 6 p.m.
Commercial vendors also may set up after 10 a.m.
