JACKSON, Mo. -- In a battle of two of the area's top high school volleyball teams Thursday night, Meadow Heights picked up its second impressive victory of the season.

After knocking off Notre Dame -- another of the area's premier squads -- Monday night, the Class 1A Lady Panthers rallied past 4A Jackson 2-15, 15-11, 15-13.

Meadow Heights improved its record to 16-2 while Jackson fell to 12-3-1.

Holly Boyd had 10 kills, 10 digs and four stuff-blocks to pace the Lady Panthers. Hannah James added five kills, six digs and two service aces.

"It was another good win for us," said Meadow Heights coach Erin Hoffman. "Chelsea Bollinger and Jasmine Sewell, two sophomores, came in and really pumped the team up."

Jennifer Mesey led Jackson with 11 kills, seven blocks and 15 digs. Jenna Leet had 10 kills and six digs; Jessie Koeper had 11 assists and five kills; Linden Hahs contributed 12 digs and four blocks; and Erin Hartman served five aces

Jackson won the JV match 15-8, 15-12.

PERRYVILLE 16-15, GRANDVIEW 14-7

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Perryville climbed closer to the .500 mark by beating Grandview.

The Lady Pirates (6-7-1) got 13 service points, 14 assists and four digs from Lisa Pecaut while Katie Kutz had six kills, five blocks and four service points.

Also for Perryville, Jessalyn Rhyne had six service points and six digs, Rachel Wunderlich had six points and Amy Garris contributed three blocks.

Perryville's JV won 15-5, 15-5.

LEOPOLD 15-15, ZALMA 8-8

ZALMA, Mo. -- Holly Jansen powered home 15 kills to lead Leopold past Zalma.

The Lady Wildcats (10-2-1) also got seven kills from Lori Vandermierden while Kyla Horrell contributed six kills and 13 digs.

Zalma (7-7) was paced by Mary Kay Hovis with five kills and Melissa Fish with three. Cindy Hovis had eight digs.

Leopold also won the JV match 15-3, 15-4.

BELL CITY 15-7-15, DEXTER 10-15-5

DEXTER, Mo. -- Bell City picked up an impressive Stoddard County Conference victory.

Katie Spears had 13 kills and four digs for the Lady Cubs (10-4-1), who also got 10 kills, 11 digs and 11 service points from freshman Katie Niemczyk.

Whitney Abner added 21 assists and nine service points for Bell City while Erin Dissler had eight blocks and four kills.

Dexter won the JV match 8-15, 15-9, 15-10. Bell City's JV is 10-2.

WOODLAND 8-15-15, CHAFFEE 15-13-8

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Woodland rebounded from a loss in the first game to knock off Chaffee.

The Lady Cardinals (6-8) received seven kills from Jeni Jackson and five kills from both Emily Davis and Kelly Reed. Reed also served four aces. Alisha Tranum led in assists with 10 and Sarah Devenport added seven.

Woodland's JV won 15-6, 15-11.

SOFTBALL

CAPE CENTRAL 5, POPLAR BLUFF 0

The surging Lady Tigers won their fourth straight game to climb above the .500 mark at 10-9.

Holly Schnurbusch pitched a five-hitter, with five strikeouts and no walks.

Central had eight hits, getting two each from Ashley Foutch, Trish Klipfel and Alex Wieser.

Central's JV prevailed 5-4. Tara Ford was the winning pitcher.

PERRYVILLE 1, HILLSBORO 0

HILLSBORO, Mo. -- Perryville picked up an impressive win over a team rated among the top 10 in the St. Louis area as Amanda Roth fired a one-hitter. She fanned four and walked four.

The Lady Pirates (8-10) scored the game's only run in the sixth inning as Amanda Mahnken singled to drive in Kelly Kassel.

Mahnken and Amanda Nuyt each had two of Perryville's seven hits.

ST. VINCENT 15, NORTH COUNTY 4

DESLOGE, Mo. -- St. Vincent (5-6) won its fourth straight game, scoring six runs in the fourth and seventh innings.

Julie Hager, who also went 3-for-4 with three runs, was the winning hurler. She allowed four hits and two walks while fanning four.

Kindle Ernst went 3-for-4 with two triples and four runs batted in. Jean Brown went 2-for-4 with a triple and Rachel Hadler went 2-for-2.

NOTRE DAME 1, SIKESTON 1

Notre Dame's Dustin Tatum scored on a pass from Tyler Cuba nine minutes into the second half, but Sikeston answered four minutes later to salvage a tie.

Sikeston's Adam Garrett headed in a long cross pass from Stephen Pobst.

Notre Dame dropped to 6-2-2.

Notre Dame's JV won 2-1 behind goals from David Kiblinger and Blake Urhahn.

JACKSON 6, FARMINGTON 1

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- Patrick Kohm scored two goals as Jackson routed Farmington.

The Indians (6-5) also got goals from Matt Buttrey, Matt Gordon, Ryan McClard and Mitchell Casteel. Kohm, Stuart Knowlan and Matt Neal all had assists.

Jackson's JV romped 10-0.

GIRLS TENNIS

FARMINGTON 8, CAPE CENTRAL 1

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- A strong Farmington squad remained undefeated as it rolled past the Lady Tigers.

Central (1-7) received its lone victory from No. 4 singles player Allie McGinty as she edged Jenny Beffa 9-7.

The Lady Tigers' JV remained perfect at 8-0 with a 12-4 win.

JACKSON, Mo. -- Dexter won a thrilling match from Jackson to avenge a loss to the Lady Indians by the same score earlier this season.

The Lady Indians (11-2) split the six singles matches but dropped two of the three doubles contests.

Jackson's JV lost 9-7.
