The Riverdogs (2-2) took an early 3-0 lead, but the Merchants scored single runs in the second, fourth, fifth and sixth innings to grab a 4-3 lead. Southern Illinois added four in the eighth.

Reliever Matt Davis took the loss. Billy Palmer, Josh Ivy, Tyler Schlosser and Greg Kraft had two hits apiece.
