The host Bulldogs used the virtual unhittable pitching of Lauren Reinagel to claim the title of their own Notre Dame SoftballFest on Saturday.
Reinagel pitched the Bulldogs to four victories Saturday, including a one-hit shutout of Kelly in the championship game. The junior struck out 11 and didn't walk a batter in Notre Dame's 2-0 victory.
The shutout was the fourth of the day for Reinagel, who allowed a combined four hits in 23 innings. She struck out 33 batters, including 10 in a seven-inning, 9-0 no-hitter of Scott City.
The right-hander hurled all four innings in a 20-0 rout of Saxony Lutheran, and five innings in a 10-0 win over Goreville, Ill., in the semifinals.
Notre Dame (6-0) scored single runs in the third and fifth innings in the championship game.
Paris Burger went 2-for-3 for the Bulldogs, including a triple.
Haley Glastetter doubled for the Hawks' lone hit.
