The Southeast Missouri State women's tennis team recorded its sixth straight win and improved to 3-0 this week at Hilton Head Island (S.C.) with an 8-1 win over Hope College on Friday. The Southeast Missouri State women's tennis team recorded its sixth straight win and improved to 3-0 this week at Hilton Head Island (S.C.) with an 8-1 win over Hope College on Friday.

The Redhawks (9-5) swept the doubles competition for the third straight match. Bryce Kristal improved her singles winning streak to 10 matches, Drew Kristal won her eighth straight match, and Elise Nattier won her ninth straight singles match.

Christine Garcia 6-1, 6-3; 5. Elise Nattier (S) def. Danielle Werley 6-3, 4-6, 10-4; 6. Marissa Kooyers (H) def. Kimmy Anderson 6-3, 6-3.

Doubles -- 1. Kristal-Kristal (S) def. Still-Austin 8-2; 2. Masotti-Nattier (S) def. Garcia-Lucy Himes 8-2; 3. Garcia-Anderson (S) def. Kooyers-Beth Olson 8-3.

Gymnastics

Southeast Missouri State's gymnastics team finished third in a four-team meet Friday at the University of Arkansas.

Arkansas won the meet with a score of 196.450, followed by the University of Missouri (195.725), the Redhawks (192.975) and Texas Women's University (192).

Sandra Blake tied for seventh in the bars with a 9.750, the highest event finish for the Redhawks. Rikara Turner and Blake tied for 10th in the vault with a 9.750. Jena Ngyuen tied for eighth on the beam with a 9.750.

Bryanna Wong was fourth in the all-around with a score of 38.550. Turner and Blake finish sixth and seventh, respectively.

Softball

The Southeast softball team lost four of five nonconference games this week, but the Redhawks will look to build on a positive Ohio Valley Conference record today.

Southeast (7-12, 2-1) visits Tennessee State (20-11, 1-4) for the start of a three-game series.

There will be a 1 p.m. doubleheader today and a 1 p.m. contest Sunday.

The Redhawks began conference play last weekend by taking two of three from Samford.

Women's soccer

Southeast soccer coach Heather Nelson announced the recent signings of four players as part of the Redhawks' 2007 recruiting class.

Signing with Southeast were Vanessa Hart from Australia, along with high school seniors: Kristi Frick and Shayna Kremer from Washington, Mo., and Ashley Runion from St. Peters, Mo.

Hart, a midfielder who has considerable international experience, helped lead the New South Wales state team to three consecutive Australian national championships between 2001 and 2003.

Frick, a defender/forward, was the team offensive MVP as a junior at Washington High School, scoring 14 goals and adding 10 assists. She has been awarded a Regents Scholarship at Southeast.

Kremer, a defender, also earned all-conference honors as a junior at Washington.

Runion, a forward, earned all-conference honors in soccer, basketball and softball at Fort Zumwalt South High School. She scored 20 goals and had eight assists as a junior.
