The Southeast Missouri State softball team split a nonconference doubleheader with host Evansville on Wednesday, winning the opener 5-3 and losing the nightcap 7-6.
Southeast is 9-15 and Evansville is 19-10.
Freshman Stacia Dopudja was the star of the victory for the Redhawks (9-15).
Dopudja went 3-for-3 with two home runs and four runs batted in. She also notched her first collegiate pitching win with four innings of work.
Dopudja leads the Redhawks with six homers and 20 RBIs.
Elaine Fisher hurled three innings of the opener for the save, but she suffered the loss in the nightcap as Evansville (19-10) scored a run in the bottom of the eighth inning to complete a comeback from a 6-0 deficit.
Southeast's Amber Peterson homered in the second game and drove in two runs, while Michelle Summers had three RBIs.
The Redhawks return to Ohio Valley Conference action Saturday with a 1 p.m. home doubleheader against Eastern Kentucky.
Tennis falls at home
The Southeast tennis team suffered a 6-1 home loss to Tennessee-Martin on Tuesday.
Southeast fell to 9-7 overall and 3-2 in OVC play. UTM is 7-3 and 3-1.
The Redhawks' lone victory came at No. 2 singles as Drew Kristal won 7-5, 6-4.
Southeast plays at Murray State today.
