Southeast Missouri State's women's tennis team knocked off Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday to pick up its first win of the season.

The Redhawks won four of six singles matches and two of three doubles matches to earn the 5-2 victory over UNK (2-2).

On Sunday, the Redhawks fell 7-0 to undefeated Nebraska (9-0).

The loss dropped the Redhawks to 1-3 on the season. They open conference play March 1 against Austin Peay in Clarksville, Tenn.

Gymnasts fall on road

The Southeast gymnastics team fell to Southern Utah in Cedar City, Utah, on Monday.

Southern Utah posted a 194.875 to Southeast's 193.900.

Vault was Southeast's best event of the night as Sandra Blake (9.850) placed second and Brianna Gaddie (9.800) captured third. The Redhawks posted a 48.875 in the vault, which was the only event the Redhawks scored higher than their host.

Blake turned in the high score in the floor exercise (9.775) on her way to winning the overall competition (39.075).

Rikara Turner and Gaddie tied for third place in the floor at 9.725.

Turner turned in a third- place finish in the all-around with a 38.900.
