Southeast Missouri State kicker Ryan McCrum was named a third-team Football Championship Subdivision All-American by The Sports Network on Tuesday, the latest accolade after a breakthrough season for the redshirt sophomore.
McCrum, a graduate of St. Charles West High School in St. Charles, Missouri, connected on 18 of 23 field goals and 40 of 41 PATs in leading Southeast with 94 points. His only PAT miss came on his final attempt. He was successful on four of his six field goal attempts from 50 yards and longer, including a season-long of 55 yards against Tennessee State. He was successful on 5 of 7 attempts from 40 to 49 yards and missed just once on nine attempts inside 40 yards.
He also averaged 62.1 yards on 67 kickoffs with 31 touchbacks.
McCrum, who already earned All-OVC first team, made just two field goals as a redshirt freshman with a longest of 38 yards. He also was 8 of 11 on PATs during his freshman campaign.
He was one of 11 players selected from the Ohio Valley Conference to the Sports Network All-America Team.
